MATERIAL STORIES

2022
LOCATION: KINGSTON UPON THAMES, LONDON, UK

To visualize a commercial interior with the understanding of embodied carbon.

The intention of this project was to understand the impact of building materials, designs and construction processes on the environment. Once I arranged three seperate material malettes, drawn from inspiration of existing commercial interiors, I curated a simple cafe interior. Next, I calculated the embodied carbon of a selected material palette. Once this was discovered, materials were exchanged in terms of lower embodied carbon, transportation times and production power to therefore, reduce the overall embodeid carbon of the site.
